melt jacket
melt jacket
The outer fabric is a linen and wool blend that has been dyed with charcoal dyeing, creating a jacket characterized by its soft, matte color and the weighty feel of the material.
The lining uses cotton fabric dyed with rust, which is used to make the weight of the garment more perceptible through the weight of the cotton.
The silhouette is a box shape. Gathers are drawn into the collar, cuffs, pockets, and epaulettes — each detail appears to melt away from the garment, dissolving at its edges.
The pockets incorporate box pockets into the structure of the jacket — two exterior, one interior.
The shoulder pads attached to the front create a silhouette reminiscent of sloping shoulders.
Charcoal dyeing will gradually fade with age. Redyeing and repairs along with maintenance wax are available for ¥5,000 + shipping.
